It’s true that everyone in this life we meet for a reason, the reason may not show right away but eventually you will have your “a_ha” moment. I met Lillian Espinal family when I was in elementary school, unaware that 20 years later we would meet again, & even less that we would build a business & personal bond that will last 20 years more.

Lillian Espinal style is BANG, in your face, look at me & yes I’m ahead of the trend & setting trends myself. A unique style & captivating personality. Her laughter makes you want to smile, & her being makes you want to always have her around. It took one day of meeting again to realize I would be collaborating a lot with her. From her own spray tanning company, to a jewelry designer to making her own clothes. This is truly a woman who can dress you from head to toe & tan you while she’s at it.

A dreamer in every sense of the word & a humble being. Willing to help the next (wo)man up even if she’s down herself. She’s the kind of personality you don’t & mind helping out because you know she definitely has your back if need be.

I’m a sun worshiper but with the recent UV ray scares & sunblock, sunscreen talks It’s almost a little scary to lay out on the beach. But luckily we have a safe way to look tanned all year round, spray tanning. It’s not a new discovery, but it’s definitely becoming more popular by the masses, thanks to Jersey Shore & media’s consistent way of scaring us. Here’s a little more on spraying tanning for all you first timers & a closer look at Lillian Espinal!

Where are you from? How this impacted your creativity?

I was born and raised in Manhattan, NYC. There were so many different styles to adapt to in NYC but I always wanted to be different and create my own. Where I grew up there were always an energy of hustle around. That’s where M.I.L AIRBRUSH TANNING SERVICES came about. I have to younger twin sisters. Who’s names are Marliana and Iliana and that’s what M.I.L stands for.

What do you want your brand image to say to your audience?

My airbrush tanning system and solution is safe to use as oppose to tanning beds.Which are reported to cause skin cancer.

What does your spray entail and what is the process?

I use the airbrush tanning gun machine. My solution consist of water, aloe vera, skin conditioner which achieves a longer lasting color and a glow. DOESNT LEAVE YOU LOOKING ORANGE. Color will fade evenly.

The DO’S AND DON’TS:

DO’S
Shave and exfoliate a day before your session.
Exfoliator (sugar + honey) or any one that has the smallest beads are the best
Exfoliate the most on your knees and elbows(those are areas were the solution seems to absorb more)
Wear loose clothing preferably black the day of your session
You can take a bath before your session

Dont’s
Wear makeup
wear lotion the day of the session
Scrub your body after tanning is fully and still active on skin
Take a bath before 5 to 6 hours after your tanning is done
After you are dry you can resume to normal activities

Clients can wear a bathing suit, bra or underwear, and there are the ones that don’t want tanninglines and bare it all. It would be your preference. Each Session includes disposable sandals and tanning tattoo of a playboy bunny or heart (illustrates how dark you got).

How long is a session?

Each session takes me about 15-20 minutes depending on the person’s body and about 10 minutes for your body to dry.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

I see M.I.L covering photo shoots, events, private parties and having a higher client base. Taking over NYC. lol

If you can give a younger you advice what would you tell yourself?

Follow your heart and dreams no matter what obstacles you come through. Your adversities will make a you a stronger person, never be afraid to face them.

What influences my style and creativity?

My love for fashion and being different. I was introduced to Yves St. Laurent, Elizabeth Taylor, Elizabeth Arden among others at a very young age. My first Versace Optical glasses to see were at age 12. lol. I remember they were yellow tinted lenses. Talk about being different. Won’t wear that today though. When I create or design something I think about the whole picture. The nails, hair, makeup, shoes, accessories, and of course a nice TANNED glowing skin. lol. I even picture how this “woman” would walk in the streets of nyc. I also design jewelry my dear people. Stay tuned for that.

What message do you have for your audience?

I’m here to serve that Woman that wants to look and feel sexy, bringing my tanning expertise
